have you ever just "felt" a book? do literary works ever leave impressions on you that stick but can't particularly be expressed in words? this is what i want to impress on people who read my works/book. i want to leave something with them, even if they don't remember the exact words. i want to give them a feeling that they've been there, that they've read something from me. i feel that way pretty often about things i see or read, but i'm a writer so maybe that's just part of a writer's personality? to take from everything they see or read or hear? to take some sort of lasting ... something?

Reminder for me
as a reminder to myself that i AM working hard and i AM making progress bc no one is as hard on me as i am on myself. no one.
this is me weeks after having Lia, baby #3

this is me recently:
this is me weeks after having Lia, baby #3
this is me recently:
see my funny little man (baby #2) behind me?
so far to go but so much achieved...yet, i still beat myself up. every day, i tell myself:
you're not good enough
you'll never be like the other moms
your children are going to be ashamed of you
no one can tell how far you've come; therefore, you haven't come far at all
all these thoughts run through my head and sometimes i feel so lonely. even with all of my accomplishments and everything i do, i tell myself it's not enough. i am not good enough.
how, readers, do you break this cycle? how do you celebrate yourself?
here's a start for me. i love that i:
taught myself to jog. it's maybe not that far but for me, it's amazing. when i started, i worked up to about 2k of my 3-4k walk and i'm slowly climbing back up there again now that i'm not pregnant anymore.
work out 3 times a week at the very least
i couldn't come up with anything else but it's a start, right?

Parenting...funny stuff when you need it most
Have you seen this blog? It's full of crappy illustrated pics of the Crappy family and true accounts by a mom in the thick of things (sorta like most of the women I know.) I like the honesty and the simplicity of this blog because parenting is already chaotic without adding complicated life accounts to it. Who has time to slog through lengthy diatribes about the meaning of life when the baby needs changing and the 3-year-old just spilled milk (I think I cried over that one-haha) and the 6-year-old needs help with his Batman Lego Wii game?
NO ONE. However, we do have time to laugh about life...and we parents really do need to laugh about it or we'll all go nuts.

Holiday Style
Of course, our latest issue is epic as usual. You can find it, and my current fashion column and article, here:
http://www.adistinctivestyle.com/issue/43549
You'll learn about fall 2011 trends done the green way (for every woman) and the eco-cosmetic line Kjaer-Weis (don't forget to note the sleek and stylish eco-chic packaging.)
I'm proud to have become the fashion editor and writer for A Distinctive Style this year and i look forward to seeing what 2012 will bring. First, however, we have to get past Christmas. What is presently your top concern for the holidays? I'm on the lookout for some knockout pieces for my winter wardrobe. First stop, a long knitted skirt from Joe Fresh. I'm just going over (in my head) the best tops/accessories to wear it with to dress up or dress down. Thoughts? I have a gray/black hat that my sister-in-law gave to me last Christmas that I think will jazz it up when I'm running errands/shopping. I adorned the hat with a sparkly owl brooch just to give it that extra me-factor. I'm not sure if I should just pair it with a solid colour tee or if I should go dressier for the work Christmas party (with some chunky pieces to accessorize and my pretty gray heeled booties.) This all, of course, is dependent on whether or not it suits my body shape. Fingers crossed.
Other top concerns:
